Will a campy (daytona) front work with shimano STI? I know the rear would have trouble, but it seems that the front is simple enough to work...

I've never personally mixed them, but I know people who have without incident. It seems to work just fine.

I was running a Campy left Ergo lever with a Dura Ace front for about a year on a 2 ring setup. Worked well. I switched to a Record Front just last month (The Dura Ace mounting bolt stripped off).

I did notice a slight difference. I could switch between the small and large rings with a full single pull of the lever on the record. The Dura Ace often took two pulls of the lever to go from the small to the large, one pull was not quite enough if I was trimmed for the large rear sprockets.
