|I normally wear Verge bibs but they are perpetually out of stock so I have purchased some Giordanas as I already have a pair of their "Silverlines". Well, I ordered both M and L in the Giordana Racetech bibs and here is my question to you all: do you base fit upon how the bibs fit in the seat area (i.e. they are snug enough so the chamois stays firmly in place and doesn't "creep") over how the suspenders feel? I am 5' 9.5", 29-30 waist, 145-lbs. and should fit the Giordana M's (29"-30") as this is the size of my current pair of Giordanas however the suspenders just feel a little short on the new mediums. I think that the suspenders on my old bibs have stretched with time so I wonder if I should just wear 'em in and give myself some time to adapt to new shorts or go up a size to the L's and sacrifice some fit in the seat? I know that this is personal preference to a large degree but I thought I'd ask. I guess that I could also have my seamstress add some lycra/whatever to the suspenders of the mediums. Thanks for any feedback...|

|when you're standing up in your bedroom trying the things on. I have bibs that seem tight, but then I never notice it on the bike. At 5'9", you should be fine with medium Giordanas (I think -- some of those Euro brands have different sizing to where a large corresponds to an American Medium, but I think Giordana is consistent with US sizing).
Snug chamois is a must to avoid chafing, in my opinion.
