Hey,

Any of you roadies out there have an answer here? I rode some junky wheels for many years on my Colnago and concentrated on mountain biking. I've been doing some steep climbing on mountain and road rides. I got a new set of Velomax Circuits on my new road bike. I've found they flex alot on steep climbs and rub the brake pads. I don't have anything special on the ATB but don't have this problem. I can open up the brakes only so much. I'm going to have to go up to higher tension and see what happens. Is this a flexy wheel? If so, how about a recommendation on a sub $300 wheelset that is very stiff and not over 1800 grams for the set?

Can't comment on the wheels you're using as I haven't ridden them. For about $300, you can get Record or DA hubs with Velocity Aerohead or MAVIC Open Pro rims that will come in at about 1600 gm. and have performance equal to boutique wheels costing several $100 more.
