hate to get new caliper (this is my commuter)

I've used a very thin piece of metal between the pad and the caliper to straighten alignment. If they are both misaligned, your fork might be bent. If it's just one, try a shim.
Take the shoe off, grab the caliper with a wrench, on the..MR_GRUMPY

flats, bend a little. Put shoe back on. Measure..... Repeat....Repeat....Repeat.

It looks to me like the thing is toed in just about the right amount. Maybe it's the camera angle, but is the pad worn so that the toe-in has effectively been eliminated? If so, then new pads (or reversing the current pads) would restore the toe-in and eliminate any screeching noises you may have.

If they don't grab, squeel, or otherwise interfere with their function or the function of the wheel, leave them alone. That is not much, if any, misalignment.
