My are a bit overdue and none of the shops carry the cartridge pad replacements. I have heard that Koolstops work well. can anyone hook me up with some links for good deals on pads?

Cures all ills. Don't know where the "deals" are (c'mon, we're talking about a $9 item here, that's like asking what the best deal out there on cables is), but I buy mine from Excel Sports if the LBS is out of 'em.

Black = Normal
Red/Salmon = Wet

Personally I use the red ones year-round with no issues whatsoever. This after a replacement set of Dura Ace pads really chewed up my rims.

Hope this helps

thanks, mike.

my LBS sells em for 22$ with one set of replacement pads. seems like i'll try excel sports and save some bucks.

I use those and they last long and work well in wet/dry. Stronger then Shimano. BTW my LBS charges 10$/set
