Headset bearing question(3 posts)

Headset bearing questionkoala
Oct 2, 2003 3:46 AM
I am building a new frame up and after having slight indexing in 2 Record headsets decided to go with a sealed cartridge headset. My LBS says it will not be quite as smooth as the Campy because of the design. I have heard the ravings of those who have Kings on their bike but never felt one. He also says preload is less sensitive. Do those of you with experience find this to be true? Thats a lot of bread for a headset.

I have had record headsets.A shimano ultegra cartridge type suits me better, for less money. I have several CKs,and they are worth the money I paid.

...the CK headset is the best headset I have ever used. Think of this way...they have a 10 year warranty and cost a $100, roughly. Would you pay $10 a year for use of a fantastic headset?
