Maybe you could explain your plan a little?Kerry Irons

Are you talking about keeping the 9s derailleur and just replacing the pulleys, or just keeping the 9s with no replacement? CampyOnly and Branford are the recommended sources for the details on the upgrade. I'm pretty sure Campy says to buy a new RD, in which case you wouldn't be talking 9s pulleys anyway.
I'd like to keep the 9s derailleur as isweiwentg

it's a post-2001 derailleur, meaning that it's the same thing as a 10s derailleur with 9s jockey wheels. I'm fairly sure it'll work0, but I'm just checking. I know what the party line is, of course: just get a new 10s drivetrain.
It will work, try it and find outKerry Irons

It might not be "perfect" but then again it might work just fine in your setup. Put it together and ride it. If you think it's not up to par, then spring for the 10s pulleys (and hope they actually improve things!).

Campy, on the other hand, would have told me to spring for a 2004 Record gruppo.

I had the same problem, only I needed a new rear derailluer to my 9-speed shifters.
I wanted to buy a 10-speed, and Campy said it didn´t work, but surprice it did.
And the pulley wheels, their "name" is C9/10, which meens that it´s the same wheels that fits 9 and 10 speed.

NO -According to BranfordBike you need to replace the 9s pulley wheels in your 9s rear derailleur with 10s pulley wheels and you will be fine - the pulley bolts are the same, just the pulley wheel spacers themselves are different.

perhaps they just tow the party line :)
Where are you going to tow the party line?Kerry Irons

Maybe you should just toe the line instead.

who isn't in it for the money?

FWIW I've always found Branford to give good advice, either on site or by e-mail.

The upgrade route they suggest for 9 to 10 speed is cost effective - it works and you don't have to buy the whole new set of kit.

But hey, anything will work, just maybe not that well! It's up to you...
