How do I remove the bearings from a Chris King headset ?MichaelM

I'm preparing my steel frame for waxoyling, I've got it stripped down, managed to remove the split ring and the rubber seal, and thats as far as I've got. I'm sat looking at the bearings trying to figure how to get them out. I could manage with them in, but would rather take them out and give it a good spray.

Can anyone help please ?

Thanks.

I think the risk of damaging something is much greater if you try to get the bearings out of the cups.

Just flush it out really well with some solvent (mineral spirits, i.e. paint thinner, or the like), dry, repack, and replace the seals. Of course, this will be easier if the cups are seperated from the frame first.

Good luck.
