D-A downtube shifter problem - left shifter/front derailleurcrankee

I have a recent set of D-A downtube shifters on my steel Basso. The left shifter (front derailleur) worked fine when shifting into the big ring, but I tinkered with the shifter (I unscrewed from the frame because it didn't look like it was seated right). Since then, no worky.

When I shift into the big ring, the shifter won't stay in place and thus the derailleur pushes the chain back onto the small ring.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

The washers and spacers have to go in a specific order and face a specific way. You've got something switched. Check out how the other shifter is put together as a reference.
