|Shimano 03 Dura Ace VS 03 Ultegra STI levers||WOY|

|I am wondering if anyone can give me any input on the differences between the 03 Dura Ace and 03 Ultegra STI levers apart from the weight. Is there a difference between the feel of the two levers in terms of shifting/braking? I know the DA has 3 ball bearings and not sure if the Ultegra has any.... what about longevity?
There is a huge difference going from XT to XTR shifters in the mountain group. The XTR has a much lighter action, has more leverage and has a more definite/precise feel. I am wondering going from Ultegra to DA will give me a similar benefit.
Thanks in advance.

|.. from Ultegra triple to Dura Ace triple shifters and noticed the difference. Smoother, lighter action, more positive and more trim positons. I like them so much, I put the DA shifters on a second bike and will install a set on my wife's bike during the winter.|

|It's almost as good as a friction shifter in the upshift. You can trim in many light-ratchety increments (maybe 7?) and it's smooth. (Still that crappy two position BAM, BAM on the downshift, though.) There's really no comparison with Ultegra, which is much vaguer and less precise. I never knew what the hell I was doing on the chainrings with Ultegra.
The right shifter is a little better, but not nearly as dramatically so. The ball bearings have a nice feel. The real difference may be (I hope, anyway) that it lasts longer. My Ultegra right shifters were constantly crapping out, which is why I moved to DA.
Braking, I don't notice a difference.

|I myself am looking at the DA shifters. I am currently on a double setup and am thinking of converting this bike to a triple over the winter and getting a new double bike next year. While in transition, can I use the left triple shifter on a double setup?|| |
