I am looking for some new pedals. I have been riding with LOOK pedals for some time now and I want to try something new. Any suggestions???
I don't know if they are the best...Atombomber

but the new Shimano SPD-SL have been very good so far. Light, low, smooth, and solid engagement.
SPD-SLs... unless you really want something non-look liketorquecal

Like AtomBomber I'm enjoying my new SPD-SL pedals. But they're not very different from Looks, so if you're looking for a big change you might want something else.
SPD-SL's are my new favorite nmfirstrax

I like the SPD-SLs. They are Look like but I think they engage better, you don't accidentally release and the cleats are walkable.
For me, Speedplays are the best....nmspc15

Shimano may have caught up to CampyKerry Irons

All the great stuff everyone is saying about the new Shimano pedals sounds just like Campy ProFit. One thing not sure is whether S will be as durable as Campy - mine have over 35K miles on them and require minimal maintenance. Everyone's talking about the Shimano pedals because they are new, but they are really only catching up to what Campy has been selling since late 1998.
I really like the Time Impacts...OffTheBack

(although, to be honest, the SPD-SLs weren't on the market yet when I bought the Times). The Impacts are light, have a low stack height, a wide platform, and sealed bearings. Great pedal IMHO.
Speedplay X1/X2Mink

I think they are lighter than the Shimanos, have a better cornering angle, are two sided (so dead easy to get into) and have lots of float (easy on the knees). I am very happy with mine.
my 2 cents is that I love Frogs.wolfereeno

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Speedplay Frogs. Had them on my mountain bike and they just eclipsed everything I've ever tried on my road bike so I switched it too. I can walk in them and feel totally secure.

Other pedals I've used are various versions of SPD and Speedplay X2's.
