How many different BB tapers are there?…TFerguson

Sticking to just the Campy and Shimano (i.e. no French BBs). Is there an old Campy and newer Campy taper? Only one Shimano taper? If I am looking to intentionally change my chain line which combinations go which way? Which combinations would be disastrous?

Thanks a lot,
TF

jis and iso(Campy). They are not intended to be mixed. The taper is the same 2*,but the iso starts and ends smaller across the flats. If you do mix the, don't go back the other way.Safer to work with different spindle lengths of the correct taper or a BB shim.
