Veloflex Master 20mm vs Pave 23mm...Spunout
Aug 17, 2003 1:06 PM
LBS has leftover Masters (taken off imported Colnagos) in blue for a steal. I was thinking of using the Pave for my race wheels (use Michelin Pro race now).

Should I even bother? 20mm is skinny! Would I have to run higher psi than 23mm Paves? (I prefer to use 110r/105f).
You left out all the informationKerry Irons

Specifically, how much you weigh. IMO, 20s are useless for anyone over 150 lbs/70 kg except for specialized events like a smooth road time trial where you are trying to shave seconds at very high speed (aero effect). Otherwise you're giving up traction and comfort, and not getting anything in return. My 125 lb wife rides 23s and really enjoys the comfort at 90-95 psi (6 bar). The price would have to be awfully good to get me to ride 20s.
