|Shifter or Derailleur problem?||dasho|

|I replaced both shifter cables on my Dura Ace (double, 3,000 miles) recently when I had problems getting the chain to move from the 39 chainring to the 52. It turned out to be a frayed cable and now it works fine.
Now I am having problems getting the chain to move from the larger cogs in the rear to the smaller ones (outward). It will shift from the smaller to the larger cogs (inwards)with no problem. I have to hold the shift lever (small lever) in for several seconds for it to shift outward and usually it takes at least 2 or 3 shift tries to get it to shift.
Does this sound like a shifter problem or a rear der problem?
|Sounds like the cable is hanging up on the housing.||the bull|

|I cut my hosing with a Dremel tool that way the cut is perfect.Is the housing smashed causing the cable to hang up?
It might shift OK when the lever is pulling it where it needs to go, but when releasing tension on the cable it is not moving freely causing it to jam get stuck then not shift properly.

|By any chance did you grease the cables where they went into the housing? Sometimes excessive grease inside the cable housing will cause slow shifting.|

|It should be a D problem. Just a guess without much to go by. Most likely your limit screws, also most likely for the Top.

|That is just BS.If it shifts to the small cog,and the big cog don't fiddle with the screws.|| |
