|I have a friend with a Campy 8sp set up. Veloce I believe. Trying to talk him into a new set of wheels. He has group hubs with some unknown cheap rims. Rebuild with decent Mavics? What pre wheelset are 8sp Campy compatable? All the newer sets that are 9/10sp say they are not 8sp compatable. Do the cog spacers that allow a Shimano wheel to work with Campy Work? Suggestions?|

|I believe that you can purchase a set of spacers (or use what he has) and purchase Veloce 9-speed cogs to make up an 8 speed set.
Now, for 8 speed hubs, I lift from Branfordbike.com's website:
All Campagnolo 9 speed hubs will fit all Campagnolo 9 or 10 speed cassettes.
All Campagnolo 9/10 speed rear hubs can be converted to 8 speed with a Wheels spacing kit, part # FW-45-48 for $24.88, and any loose cog, Campagnolo 9 speed cassette. Drop a cog, add spacers and you have a perfectly spaced 8 speed cassette on a 9 or 9/10 speed hub. Click on the underlined text to visit our Cassettes Section for more details.
FWIW, get a new set of open pros with Centaur hubs.

|Thanks. I'll check out Brandford and let him know options.|

|Cheers to that, great light build... purchased this exact set barely used, hubs are only few grams more than the record counterpart.
These are going to be my cyclocross racing set and my moskva/chorus set for training/spares.
Also I am currently upgrading from 8 to 9 with new ratchets for my lever. See post above, I need the manual.
