installing braze-on front derailleur...?JS Haiku Shop

ok, first time here installing a braze-on front derailleur. i've got a 2002 shimano 105 kit coming from GVH. kit is not in yet, eta this week.

frame is a look kg286. i was looking last night at my merckx with f.der tab (chorus 10sp), noticed the frame tab has a vertical oval opening in the f.der tab, into which an oval washer was placed, then the chorus f.der was installed with bolt. the washer is oval shaped on the outside, and circular (bolt-shaped) on the inside, such that the bolt would not move freely up/down the vertical "tab hole" (LOL).

this oval washer--is it supplied with the kit, standard, or does it come with the frame, or something else? i have no washer with the frame.

hope my striking use of cycling jargon made this question clear as mud.

TIA!
