What I'm trying to do is create a bike using as little steel as possible. It doesn't necessarily mean it has to be super-expensive.
But if you are not sure of where to get one, please don't just reply with "You're better off losing weight by shaving your head" or whatever. Is the one at excelsports alloy?
Thanks.

The Pedalsoft Cirque Lockring for ONLY $25 is aluminum.

The model listed under campy parts would be steel.

FWIW, the aluminum lockring that comes with Ksyrium wheels doesn't last at all. The serrations on the first cog chew up the face of the lockring real fast.

I wouldn't have an Al lockring on my bike. You will go faster when the cogs stay on the cassette.

Aluminum lock rings both come with DA and XTR cassettes. They work fine provided you use the thin sheet metal washer between it and the ending cog.

The Pedalsoft lockring will use a Shimano tool. Aluminum rings won't have a wear problem if the serrations are covered with a stainless steel shim like those found on DA.
