|Ksyrium Owners - Bearing Question||Bananaman|

|After 8 months and 3600km my Ksyrium SSC's have developed a loud front bearing squeak. There are two sealed (Japanese)cartridge bearings in the front hub which are easy to remove but cannot be serviced. As the wheel is still under warranty I know that I'll have to wait around 2 months for it to come back from France. Does anyone know where I can buy these cartridge bearings so I dont have to wait?|

|They are probably standard size metric bearings, available inexpensively from www.biketoolsetc.com or www.mcmcaster.com.
Most of these bearing can be had for $4-10 each. Don't get tricked into paying $20 each. You want double-sealed, not shielded bearings.
I take the bearings out and check them first. Unless you've been riding in the rain a lot, these bearings should last many times the distance that you've traveled.
Info on replacing the bearings can be had at www.tech-mavic.com. The login is mavic-com and the password is dealer.

|Yes, we did a 400km ride in May and half that distance was in the rain !
Thanks for the information C-40, you have been helpful and I appreciate it.
|Might try Bocabearings.com||cdhbrad|

|They have a complete listing for Bicycles. I haven't ordered any Bike bearings from them, but my son and I race radio controlled cars (lots of bearings) and that's the only source we use. An 800 number to call for orders and Free Shipping too.|| |
