|Ok, I realize that there is no way to adjust the reach on Shimano 105's. I've done some searching and some people have aluded to ways to mod them to adjust the reach. I don't think I can handle adding a reach adjustment screw. What are some other ways to make the adustment?
I'd prefer to not have to shell out $180 for Shimano ST-R600's.

|Just loosen your cables, pull the levers to open up the gap on top and glue something in there. Dimes, washers, whatever. I would start with something that you can remove until you get the spacing right, like the peal-and-stick rubber feet that go on the bottom of electronic equipment, etc.
I have drilled, tapped and installed screws in mine, but it's overkill. It would be nice if I could find some wedge shaped thing that looks like it belongs in there and completely fills the gap.
Note that, with the gap, the levers get gunked up much faster than normal. Periodic WD-40 followed by drying and relubing is necessary.
