My new Look HSC 3 rattles!!!!CrazyMan

Am I missing something? Just received a new KG 386 from Totalcycling. Aside form a small piece of plastic ungluing (no big deal), there is a serious rattle to the HSC 3 fork. It sounds like there's a piece broken off inside, or something.
I assume I should be concerned, right?
How loud is it?Nessism

Could be just a small piece of glue as you mentioned. If the rattle is louder, it could be something more.

When you turn it upsidedown does it sound like something is rolling in the hollow leg.
If you strike it in you hand does it vibrate and make noise?
Either way if your going to have to send it back if you do isolate the problem to the fork.

I had a carbon fork that appeared to audibly vibrate -- i.e., rattle. It turned out to be the headset. It was a Campy Hiddenset, not noticeably loose. However, rotating the fork through 180 deg. gave different intensities of vibration -- from maximum to none at all. Completely disassembling and reinstalling the headset (twice) solved the problem. Still, today, the return of the rattling indicates that time has come to tighten the headset again. (This experience has turned me against internal headsets!)

Went down to the shop and had it all explained...
Turns out 1-piece monocoque designs use a bladder that, when no longer useful, dries up and is left inside the fork. Sometimes it rattles. The tech said it was not too uncommon and not to worry. "Ok," says I.
I think your wrench has a loose bladder. What plastic piece arePaul

you talking about? I have the same fork, and know several others who have upgraded to it, outside of being a noodle at times, never have heard it rattle due to the bladder. I would ship it back.
