|Record 10 brake lever||Pygme|

|My record 10 brake lever will not spring back after being applied. I have to push it forward with my knuckles.
I think it is in the shifter/lever itself.
I removed the cable and te brakes themselves spring back out but the lever still will not spring forward.
It feels like it is "stuck." Is there a spring in there or possible corrosion that is causing the problem. Can the shifter be removed, taken apart and serviced?
thanks for any help!

|I had a similar issue after replacing cable housing. The housing was too short, and the lever wouldn't spring back.|

|The cause was a crushed cable. The cable should fit in the little groove. At some point when I adjusted the brakes I did not seat it properly and crushed the cable. It no longer fit into the groove and would just slip every time I tried to apply the brakes.
I just replaced the cable and it worked fine.

|The hoods have small notches where they 'hook' between the bar and shifter body, on mine one of the notch/hooks wasn't in place and caused shifting havoc...check that too.|| |
