I used to have a front wheel knocking problem with my Ksyriums until I tightened the front wheel bearing cover with the pronged spanner mavic give you to tighten it up with. Now recently my front wheel has developed a high pitched squeak. I took off the skewer, bearing cover and end caps to expose the japanese cartridge bearings each side of the hub and found one of them was a bit lumpy when rotated in the hub. You cant do anything with these bearings so I didnt knock them out of the hub. I put the thing back together and put the wheel back on the bike and it seems fine. The wheel has only done 3500km and I dont know why the noise developed. Anyone any experience with this kind of thing?

grease the drop-outs and the nipples. Do the drop-outs first. I have K's and had the same problem, it was just grease. If it comes back, try it.

They are a fairly common size. You could have gotten a bad batch. Replace them with the best quality you can. Another thing to look at is the skewer. Give the lever a few drops of oil. Mine squeeked once, and that is where it was coming from.
