just purchased some tubies an have never glued a tyre before.. velox and tufo make tubie tape. is it worth my trouble or should i go to my local shop an have em do it? how much should it cost at a shop?

I just started using the tape and I find it works well. I also feel confident in it's ability to keep the tire secure.

Go buy a tube of glue, and put them on the right way.
FWIW, not one rider in the TdF uses tape.

The Tufo tape works well. It holds tightly -- I can corner fast and with confidence when I'm on my tubies.

And, FWIW, not one rider in the tour doesn't have a mechanic hired to do his gluing in advance for him.
Great for training.......Not so good for racing......nmMR_GRUMPY

i used the jantex tub. tape a while back and it might as well have been scotch tape--didn't hold at all.

i've heard the tufo works good though.
