|Tried searching the classifieds and found nothing so here goes.
Just wore out the right side (7-speed) RSX STI on my favorite old steel road bike. Does anyone have a replacement they'd like to sell?

|I had a set hanging around, but just installed them on a guys bike in exchange for a project bike.
Something to consider. 7 and 8 speed Shimano indexes the same. The only thing they still make in 8 speed gear is sora. They do work fairly well and are fairly inexpensive, though admitedly not as pretty as your old RSX.
There is always bar-cons or downtube shifting....

|You can put either 7 or 8 speed STI's(except Dura Ace) on a 7 speed and they'll work fine.|

|Not the same,as 7 speed cog spacing is 5.0mm and 8 is 4.8mm. But close enough that it works reasonably well, although some say not well enough for them. . Don't use a 8 speed DA shifter unless you also have a 7 or 8 speed DA rear derailer to go with it.|

|But it's because the spacing is close enough, not the same.|

|I actually have 7 speed bar cons with an 8 speed cassette on my retro grouch bike right now. It's OK. I'm satisfied with it for that bike, but I'd never let a customer's bike go out that shifted that poorly and I wouldn't tolerate it on my other bikes.
I've worked on several versions of 8 speed shifters with 7 speed cassettes too. My opinion is basically the same. It's rideable, but just not spot-on. Sometimes I have to play with the shifter a little to get the gear that I want.

|bikepartsusa.com has both a left and right 7 speed Sora shifter @ $53 and $60. Since you trashed the right, get a pair and keep the spare RSX as a backup or sell it off.|
