Campagnolo and Shimano compatibility??(4 posts)

Campagnolo and Shimano compatibility??caniaitalia

Well to start off I'm a new mountain bike convert. We don't have these problems on mountain bike drivetrains.
I have a Cane Creek Aerohead Shimano 9spd compatible wheelset, and I don't want to give it up. Unfortuantely, I also don't want to give up my new Campy Veloce Drivetrain. Can I use an ultegra or 105 cassette on this drivetrain? i've read that it can work, just not perfectly. any comments would be helpful!!!

Is your drive train 9sp? If so, you can likely use it.dzrider

I've set up a few bikes with 9sp Campy drive trains and Shimano cassettes and with a little fiddling they work fine.

I do the exact same thing, I have Campy Mirage as my shifters/brake levers and a Mirage Rear D. I use Shimano Ultegra cogs, 105 cranks, Sora Front D, Sora Calipers.

All in all, no problem and cheap as well!

thanks, you guys prolly helped me save a lot of money, seeing as i'm only a college student, campy stuff is mostly out of my league, not to mention campy specific wheels..
