Syntace Streamliner bar placement(6 posts)

Syntace Streamliner bar placementSherpa

this seems real basic, but where are the dropbars does one install a set of Syntace Streamliner aero bars. do you clip them on at the "bulge" - closest to the stem? seems if you put them off the "bulge" you run into conflicts with brake cabling ...

You might need to carefully remove some bar tape ( so you can reuse it) and temporarily relocate the brake cables/housings and place the clip-ons where you find they are most comfortable. Make certain that the bulge does not interfere with the clamp of the clip-on. Route the cable/housing where they best fit and rewrap as needed.
perhaps I'm not being clear enough .Sherpa

outside of the bulge is most likely not designed to support any kind of clamping, I'd be very nervous with the Syntaces clamped there: especially since the clamps tend to score the bar anyway. The Syntace has good adjustability on the elbow pads, so even if the actual bars are clamped close together, the pads can be moved out to get a bit more stability. That's what I did..
