anyone have some good imput(experience or knowledge) on using a hed 3 trispoke wheelset(or front wheel only) in criteriums?
ya see a lot of spinergy rev-x, but not many hed 3's in the field. seems like the hed 3 would be a fine choice for a non windy crit race.
thanks,

I have no direct knowledge- so feel free to disregard anything I might offer...

Granted, the "spokes" possess much of the weight.

Having seen the HED "factory," I'm a bit freaked at the prospect of "truing" a tri-spoke wheel- not to mention balance issues.

I know what happens when I assume, but I'd expect to see all sorts of pros using them if there was anything to be gained from their use.

I've used the rear Specialized TriSpoke in both crits and road races. Not a big deal. I've only used the front in TTs because of the succeptablility to cross winds. I know there are some VERY accomplished riders inthis area that have used the combo in crits (Carey Farrell, Mike Eddy, Dan Norton). I doubt any of these guys frequent this forum, however. Sorry, can't give you any first-hand advice.
