FRM Brakes:two questions...MalcolmNZ

Firstly how do they perform compared to say DA?-they seem light or is their an alternative that is as light and better?
Secondly I want to run a straight bar and have heard that cantilever levers will work with road brakes-is this true?
Thanks,
Malcolm.

I vaguely remember hearing on MTBR's weight weenie forum that they were more or less the same as Cane Creek's BRS200s. I have tried neither, but both are single pivot calipers as opposed to dual pivot calipers, and will be less powerful than dual pivots (trade off for being lighter). they would be fine on a TT bike for most people. they might even be fine on a road bike - depends on how often you descend mountains or otherwise have to come to a screeching halt. Campy rear brakes are single pivot (Centaur and above) and they work just fine.
