The stem on my bike has a good inch and a half of spacers between it and the aheadset (stem police, keep calm). I want to experiment with lowering my bars, but want the option to raise them again if the change isn't comfortable.
Is is safe to move some spacers from below to above the stem to try out the lower handlebar position? Ultimately I would look at cutting the steerer down to size if the change works out.
