Jun 24, 2003 9:40 PM | | How nice is this wheel? To rebuild a wheel if you buy a new rim and spokes.. expect the labor to be between $30 and $60 to have the wheel built. Sometimes, if the wheel wasn't that great to begin with, you would save money by just getting a new machine built wheel.

I'd charge you around $20.00 or $25.00 labor assuming I judged the rim to be OK and you brought me the exact correct spare spokes. I think that's a pretty good deal because it will take me almost as much time as it would to build a complete new wheel from all new parts.
Otherwise, I'd charge you $1.00 per spoke labor plus parts for a complete wheel rebuild. If you don't have pretty good stuff, it'll usually be cheaper to buy a complete new factory built wheel of similar quality to what you have. |
