Jun 24, 2003 7:21 AM | | I want to replace my 42 and 52 chainrings with a 39 and 53 on my 105 Triple but I have only seen Ultegra chainrings in this size. Are there 39 and 53 105 Triple chainrings available? If not, will Ultegra work with my 105 cranks.

You will also need to swap out your front derailleur for a DA triple front derailleur. Huh? That's right, the 105 and Ultegra are meant to shift a difference of 10 teeth on the middle to big ring and 39 to 53 is 14t on a triple setup. Basically you want DA performance in ring sizes on a 105 budget, and Shimano got you there. Info courtesy of peterwhitecycles. |
