Help Rust in New Framemgolebiewski
Jun 23, 2003 9:09 PM
I took my new 2 month old and gave it a good wash after a rainy ride this weekend and noticed some rust in the seat tube. How worried should I be. I intend to be at my shop tomorrow morning, but want some opinions before I go in.

It has been ridden in the rain two times. The worst of it was 30 minutes on the back of the car on the way home this weekend. I always, when home hang the bike vertically so any water will drain out.

To help it rust, try salt with water. Seems to work on my truck pretty well.
"Frame Saver" or Linseed oil will stop it.....nmMR_GRUMPY

My shop told me it was "normal" to see some rust in the tubes and nothing I should worry about.

Are they full of it or...?
