Spoke length confirmation - Open Pro and Dura AceNessism
Jun 16, 2003 9:35 PM
Spokecalc2002.xls states:

Mavic Open Pro 28 hole rim with Shimano Dura Ace hubs, 3X lacing pattern.

Rear - 299.4 (299), 297.9 (298)
Front - 299.9 (300)

Just looking for some confirmation from anyone that has built a set like this.

Thanks.

Ed

Will that set up be tough enough for a 170 pound rider?
Depends.Juanmoretime

How hard are you on wheels? What type of spokes and nipples? I've ridden CXP 30's 28 hole with DT revolution spokes and alloy nipples for over 10,000 miles and never had a problem. The heavier rim and the higher rim height and short spoke length had something to do with this. With OP's I might go double butted although I don't think I would go revolutions and if your a racer I would also probably recommend brass nipples with a 28 spoke count.

This worked for me (but was 32 hole).

My program has 296.8 & 298.9 and 298.9 = front. It usually puts the end of the spoke right at the bottom of the slot of the nipple.
Why don't you buy them from Performance ?PeterRider

Didn't check the prices today, but recently they were at 250$ for the pair. Minus 20% for the usual coupons, this gives a price probably very very hard to beat.
