Ultegra 2003 vs 105MtbLenny
Jun 11, 2003 10:09 AM
Could someone tell me if it would be an upgrade if I'd change my Shimano 105 front-& rear derailleurs bottom crank and bracket into Ultegra '2003' ones without changing my shifters (i.e. 105)

I am not sure about any changing on 2003 Ultegra. So, if it is the same as 2002 model, Ultegra and 105 are completely exchangeable. You do not have to change out 105 shifters.

IMO, 105 front derailleur works better than Utegra's

Cheers!

Thx! What about changing the brakes into Ultegra ones? (original Cannondale on this moment - I ride An R700)

If you do change to Ultegra calipers, replace the brake pads. They will eat your rims for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
