Dura-Ace Chainring Teeth Question(4 posts)

Dura-Ace Chainring Teeth QuestionFockewulf

I've noticed that some Dura-Ace 9-Speed chainrings have shorter teeth, with a flat spot at the end as opposed to the sharp, pointy, teeth seen on other Dura-Ace cranks and Ultegra and 105 cranks. Anyone have any idea about the reason for this difference?

The shorter teeth combine with the magic of shifting pins and ramps to make for smoother shifts while using STI.

No, they're on a double, which is 53/42, so it can't be track.
