Does any one have a Acura and use a 400 style foot with the normal bars? What fit kit are you using?
I am wanting to reuse my current load bars on my Prelude and dont want to have to rebuy load bars, because the only way to get the correct 409 kit is to buy it with the load bars!Does anyone have this set up on there Acura? Are the bars built into the towers or something?

It seems the 409 is a complete system with the load bars built into the feet like you suspect. It lists it on the website as a onesided system. I have seen another of these for a different car, but not that particular Acura. But the one-sided systems go on and off easier, but that's because the load bars are pre spaced. The bad thing for you is that you have to buy the whole thing instead of just new feet. The good news is that if you were starting from scratch, this system is way cheaper than others.

What year is your Prelude? I have a 91 Accord 2 door and I may be interested in your old rack if it fit my car.

It is a 91.My wife has a 92 Accord. It is a two door as well.I belive I need the 117 fit kit to get it to work.Plus those silly extender things.I have the load bars and 400 feet.I will let you know what I am going to do.I might give her the 4 door and put my rack on the Accord but I am not sure.I want to get my old Land Crusier running and carry my bikes on that.Really I just want the 409 feet.No matter what if I want to carry bikes on top of a car I am going to have to spend over 150 bucks. It will be a couple of weeks but I will let you know.I am going to drive this car around for a while to make sure it is good before I spend money on a rack.
