Just some information on the sizing of these bibs.
I am 5'11" and 170lbs with a 31 inch waist. I wear the Castelli Progetto bibs in a large.

When I asked about sizing on the Assos, no one was able to give me an anwer. The Assos web site suggests a large for people up to 6'1', but my experience with the Assos line is that they run small.

I ordered a large and ExtraLarge and found the Extralarge fit much better. The large pulled on my shoulders at the top of the bib when I stood up and made me feel as if I couldn't stand up straight without overstretching the bib.

The extralarge was far more comfortable. There was no appreciable gapping or loss of fit in the body or legs. Essentially, the only difference was the height or length of the bib.

Just an FYI for those thinking of buying these bibs. If you wear a Castelli, consider going up one size.

And yes, they are terrific.

Your complaint/observation about sizing is a common one. Assos sizes their stuff to fit while you are in the riding position ,not standing tall or walking. Look at the picture of the rider on their website. I love mine too.

I'm 6'2" and about 185lbs and the XL fits, but isn't roomy. They are designed to be most comfortable in a tuck so don't judge the size from standing. The shoulder straps loosen up once you are seated on the bike. Great shorts, but big $.

mine have held up fine so far but i was wondering how they will hold up over time. for $200 you think they'd wear like iron.

I've probably washed mine 40 times in the machine on regular cycle, cold water, with jeans or whatever I have. NO special care except to hang dry, and not one problem to date.
