Is Shimano 105 the lowest-end splined bottom bracket?(2 posts)

Is Shimano 105 the lowest-end splined bottom bracket?Eug

I dunno what my splined BB is on my 2002 Trek 2000 (and I don't want to remove it). The bike comes with mainly 105 parts, with a little bit of Tiagra thrown in. I'm thus assuming I've got a 105 BB, but I dunno for sure.

BTW, Shimano's website lists no specs for Tiagra and below, and for 105 and Ultegra, it doesn't list a Shimano triple BB for some reason. Besides the small 19 g weight difference (according to Airborne.net's bike config page) is there any other significant difference?

I wasn't planning on upgrading any time soon, but I'm interested nonetheless.
