Component resale questionsPaulCL

My old Colnago died...so I moved to a new frame. During the component swap, I went from Italian to English threaded bottom bracket, and different size seatpost. The seatpost is for sale on this site, but what about the BB??

It's a 3 year old campy record BB Italian threaded. Are these resaleable??? Ifso, what would I ask?? And yes, I will post it on RBR classifieds.

Thanks. Paul
I might pay $20-$25 as a spare, if I used Italian...........nmMR_GRUMPY

If I'm not sure what something is worth, but I think it's sellable, I'll put an ad on eBay. Let the market rule. It's amazing what people will pay for used parts, particularly Campy. In the case of your BB, if the mileage isn't too high, it's definitely worth selling. What is the mileage, by the way? I might be interested as a backup to my Chorus unit that has performed flawlessly for 10,000 miles.

I bought it in Nov of 1999. So, it was used in 2000, 01, 02 and 900 miles this year. So, my guess at miles is about 10,000 give or take a thousand.

Part of me hates to sell it..but since my frame is cracked, the BB would just sit in a box. Make me an offer...though with 10,000 miles on your chorus, I doubt you'll need one for a LONG time.

Not nearly as long lived as I was told it would be. I might pay $20 for a used Record bb with 10,000 on it if there is guaranteed to be no play in the axle when installed. You might be better off seeing how much it would cost to put in some English cups on your old unit. That might not be very cost effective either, since replacement parts and labor can cost more than a 10,000 mile part is worth.
