Rolf Vector Comp rear hub noise(2 posts)

Rolf Vector Comp rear hub noisegkd

I have some Rolf Vector Comps that are about 3-4 years old, about 4000 miles on them. Yesterday, the rear was making weird clicking noises, so I took the hub apart and put more grease in the bearings and it still makes noise. I noticed that the cassette kind of wobbles when the wheel is free-wheeling, yet the cassette is tight on the freehub.
Is my freehub wore out? If so, what tool is needed to replace it and where can I get a new one? I understand that Rolf has had some restructuring and is now called Rolf Prima.....

Thanks--

for you to upgrade your wheelset to Bontrager Racelites. I was able to warranty my Rolfs last fall that had close to 10K on them. The clicking noise you hear is probably the freehub failing. Mine was due to alot of water getting into the hub due to a poor seal (characteristic of VC's) and then rust forming in a few days. It happened twice and after the second time the shop tried getting the freehub off and something broke and could not be repaired while the Trek Rep was in the shop. Soooo...free wheelset for me!! Talk to your LBS about this, I was shocked I got new wheels.PS the shop was going to warranty the wheels anyway but when they broke, they had no choice.
