I'm sure this has been posted before, but can the shifter mechanism of an STI front shifter be repaired? When shifting from the middle to large ring, I heard a pop, and now it will not move in enough to change to the big ring. I can go from middle to inner, and from inner to middle.

Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions?

Depends on what's broke. If it's an internal ratchet,it's toast. There may be a list of the few available parts at www.branfordbike.com or if not, I think www.harriscyclery.com has a link to the QBP catalogue which has them

Yes they are - although it requires buying a rebuild kit which is the entire internals. These rebuild kits are still cheaper than buying new shifters so therefore are worth it. Ask your LBS.

I think the left is available more often on ebayLone Gunman

than the right because the right gets used a whole lot and the left not so often. You did not mention if you had DA, 105, or Ultegra. I would scope ebay out though I hate buying parts used. As a guide, I saw a right Ultegra shifter (new) from an online co that advertises here for $59+shipping retail.
