HI experts and thanks in advance for the help:

I am riding my first road bike with brake lever shifters and am having an adjustment problem. The set up: Ultegra triple 52/42/30 front, 12-25 rear. The problem: It is incredibly difficult (if not impossible) to shift the front derailer from the middle ring to the big ring -- it is really really tight and a very hard push (can do it with two hands). Not hard to shift up from little ring to middle ring, and not at all difficult to shift from outside to inside rings. I have no experaince adjusting this type of shifter (or the triple FD), and am wondering what am I missing?

Could be the hi limit screw is set too tight. It's the one furtherest from the seattube.Try a 1/4 run at a time counterclockwise. www.parktool.com had derailer setup.
