i need a pair of new wheels. I now ride Campy record hubs laced to Campy Montreal rims.

Let see some of the pro and cons of each.

Without trying to sound like an ass.... if you know this is a "here we go again" scenario... save us all the typing and just do a search for the wheels you want to compare them to. Or just look a few days back into the posts... it really doesn't need to be discussed every 4 days.

Hey Noam,

I just suffered through this same issue and ended up getting the custom wheels. My choice was predicated on price and performance. I am an avid rider but no racer. $350 bought me Mavic CXP33 with Record hubs. An upgrade from my Chorus/Reflex setup.

I toyed with Campy Proton and Sirocco's (same price point ) but knew I had better quality with the custom set up. Yes they are heavier, but again, I am not racing and bet we all carry more stuff than we realize in our gear and gut that is more of the problem.

It ain't the wheels at my level, it's the motor.

Now, When I am ready to upgrade again in 3-5 years, then maybe I will go to the next level $750 - $1000 dollar range and get an mid range elite set.

Go custom or spend big and feel faster, but remember,
It's the motor.
