|I need to put a new rear brake caliper on my commuter, and was wondering if a one of the long reach brakes gives any additional clearance space when mounted on a regular frame?

|When you put the wheel in the frame, clearance is determined by how close the tire comes to the brake bridge and seat stays in the back or the fork in the front. Whether you have long reach brakes does not influence this. Long reach brakes are needed if you cannot adjust the pads to reach the rim, suggesting you have either a very large clearance frame or you have 700c wheels in a frame built for 27 inch.|| |
