Tubie Newbie ... how about Veloflex Servizio Corsa?AllUpHill

Does anyone have any direct experience with these tires, or anything you've heard about them via a friend of a friend of a friend? I've heard good things from one person I know, and have a convenient source and price for them ... so I'm thinking of getting a pair for my first tubular experience (my wheels should arrive in a couple weeks! It may be a step backwards to obsolete, cumbersome technology, but I'm excited).

My only concern stems from the quoted weight of the Servizio Corsas, ~220g, versus other tires, 250g to 270g. Does serious puncture vulnerability come with this particular model, or is it possible they're at least reasonably durable? Somehow I have to wonder if even basic puncture resistance had to be sacrified with that 50 grams. I'm a bit of a weight-weenie, but tires are one place I'm not very willing to go stupid-light. Especially when a single puncture means pitching an expensive tire in the waste bin.

I was considering the "old standard" conti sprinters, but I hear the ride quality is nothing too special.
Nice. Expensive. Try Tufo (nm)Rusty McNasty

Slightly wider and better all around tire for most purposes. only about 20g heavier. Sweeeet ride.
