FliteDeck Question - Gear Indicator No Show in Cadence Mode(6 posts)

FliteDeck Question - Gear Indicator No Show in Cadence ModeBaadDawg

I have a new Flitedeck wireless SC6501 and I find that the numerical gear tooth indicator which displays for 2 seconds after a shift does not display in Mode 2 when Cadence is displayed on the top in large numbers.
Is this a setup thing that I missed or is it the way its built? Others have posted that the gear tooth display works for them when using the large cadence number on top and this has me totally stumped.

Here is a link to the manual:

Am I missing something in setup? or is mine a newer version with a glitch?

Any help would be appreciated.
Mine's the same. Hadn't realized that. (nm)TFerguson

That's the way it is suppose to be. I run it with the RPM/cadence on top and speed/vel on the bottom. with the little optical gear display that I have with my DA shifters it is a really nice configuration I never have to change display mode.
What about trip distance, ave speed, etc.?Matno

Don't you have to be in trip mode to start/stop those functions at the beginning and end of the ride? I'm still getting used to my FD too, and the mp/h won't flash from that mode.

It would be nice if the FD could be "programmed" to allow you to cycle through modes in a customized fashion. i.e. it would be nice to be able to put just the functions you use regularly in one mode and leave the others in "mode 2" for occasional use. Maybe someday...

Dream on lol.

It would be nice to have a computer operating system that works properly too.
I think that once you start it ...TFerguson

that it is in auto-start mode and all you do is reset it to zero (both buttons) before you start. Try it. I know mine is in auto-start now and that it's not after I change the battery and I have to figure it out again. The manual never really goes into this.
