How crash worthy are Speedplay X-2'st-moore

I got a taste of asphalt this weekend. I wasn't traveling too fast when I down, so I was shakened, but not hurt. My left speedplay hit the ground pretty good, scraping the tip of the pedal and scraping the grease plug.

I was able to clip in and out without any problems, so I gingerly made my way home. Can these pedals take abuse?
Also, how would Speedplay deem the crash if I sent them in for repair. The pedals are less than a month old??....Tim

and the pedals are fine. Totalled my frame and smashed my left shifter but pedals are fine. The only issue you might notice if they are damaged is the body shifting sideways on the spindle. Should be noticeable if you see the o-ring outboard of the body at some point. I think the X-2's are easily rebuildable. Speedplay is really good and fast if you do send them for rebuilds. I got mine back in a matter of about 3-4 days.
