this set comes with Scattante CFR from supergo. can somebody tell me how these wheels are? are they flexy? are they every day wheels? any info would be nice. i'm thinking of swapping them for Ultegra/Mavic Open Pro set before purchasing the bike.

Hello,

It all depends how heavy you are and how strong you are as well. The 540s are a decent pair of wheels, if not mistaken they are laced to 105 hubs. A little heavy, harsh and stiff. They are slightly flexy moving side to side.

Not recommended for everyday use because like I said they are harsh. A pair of ultegra/ Mavic Open Pros are definitely a better bet. However, if you are thinking fast group ride, then they are a good bet.

Regards.

i think i'll swap them for Mavic Cosmos wheelset. it's the same price as 540s, look as good, and are probably stiffer laterally. what about the frame? can somebody tell me about the frame durability, quality, etc.?
540 / Cosmos - Harsh and stiff - wear you out fastc722061

Go with Open Pro on Ultegra, you have much better hubs and more compliant ride than that of Cosmos and 540. Thus, save you $100 over the Cosmos/540. IMHO, the 540 hubs and freewheel are finer than Cosmos'.
isn't rigidity the desired attribute? nmdovid
