|Hey everyone, I've got a really easy question for anyone willing to answer. I have a set of mavic open pro rims and I want a set of new tires. The only problem is that I have no idea what type of tires are compatible. I've heard of clincher and tubular and I have no idea which one I need. I also need suggestions for training tires. Any good suggestions?

|You need clinchers for that bike. Clichers use tubes, while tublulars are glued to the rim.
I've had good luck with Michelin Axial Pros and Continental GP3000 tires. I prefer the Contis, but not by a lot.

|... just to add a bit...
Tubulars have tubes... but they're sewn into a tubular tire casing which is then glued to a tubular specific rim (Open denotes a clincher tire on the Open Pro).
There is at least one exception... Tufo makes a tubular casing with a rim bead... which essentially allows this particular tubular tire to run on a clincher rim. I add this only for the information... I'm not advocating that you go this route. the GP3000 is a good all around performer... and can often be found at far less than retail.
Be the bike.
