|I suppose there is a reason to thumb through page after page of new catalogs, like Colorado Cyclist. You can actually learn something...
A few weeks ago I posted a message commenting on how hard it was to insert new brake pads into a Campy Chorus brake shoe. It turns out that there are different brake pads for pre-2000 Campy groups (BR-RE600) and for groups since 2000 (BR-RE-700). The pads I got at my LBS were the old pre-2000 style, but my group is post-2000. The description in the CC catalog tipped me off, and I confirmed it at the Campy site.
I don't know if there actually is a difference on installation, but it seems like a reasonable possibility. I can't wait to wear out the pads I have to get something that (might) work better.
